INDIA ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL JUSTICE REPORT – 2025 is the first of its kind to measure and indicate where India and the states stand in providing constitutional guarantees of Justice, economic, and social to people. Inspired by the Human Development Index of the UNDP, this report has examined several indicators to determine the Economic and Social Justice Index and ultimately identified three dimensions. One, MPCE (monthly per capita expenditure) per family among S.Cs to signify economic Justice. Two, the atrocities committed on the S.C. and S.T. population published by NCRBI, and the human rights violations as recorded by NHRC. The report employs a statistical method similar of the HDI. The report presents data for two periods: 2011 and 2023. It is surprising to find that states that are economically proactive are socially regressive in protecting S.C. and S.T. populations; as a result, the overall ranks of ESJI are getting depressed, and the report reveals other such facts. The report provides data and information on the castes, sub- castes of S.C., S.T., and O.B.C. populations by state, along with caste-wise data on education, economic status, reservations, and other relevant aspects. It also includes an analytical appraisal of innovative concepts, reviewing 75 years of the Constitution’s implementation. There are 7 chapters with rich data that have hitherto been inaccessible to scholars, experts, government officials, and activists.
